The Muddy Creek Tales, no. 1
Jul 12, Hikes in Rain rated it it was amazing. I love time travel tales. This one takes place in the old West, from the point of view of the sheriff of the little town. When the train doesn't make its scheduled stop, something about the passengers seems "mighty peculiar". Nov 28, Andrew rated it really liked it Shelves: fantasy , western. Funny story, good character developement, could really visualize the characters by their actions and descriptions.
Your usual kind of town characters, and the old time sheriff dealing with a very different kind of Bank Robbery- still Nov 25, J.

Very clever, Mister Healy, very clever indeed. This is a sci fi-slash-Western short story, with good characterization, good clear writing, and a neat plot. I'd compare it to Cowboys and Aliens , but it's more realistic, doesn't have any aliens, and takes place on a train. A strong four stars. Apr 20, Patricia rated it really liked it. This was a nice short story. I like the time travel piece of it. I can see this expanded to a full length book in some form. Jan 29, Jyoti Dahiya rated it liked it Shelves: science-fiction , western.
A mashup of western and sci fi, featuring train robbery and time travel. Not bad at all.
We find that the guys with the technology indistinguishable from magic need not necessarily be smart enough to use it to best effect. Jul 01, Richard H Moodybuddy rated it did not like it. Sifi western? The only good part were the characters 2 protagonists, one with a great accent, scared of guns.

No one could imagine what they would find on the train. Peculiar indeed and seemingly other worldly! A good read for waiting in line. Apr 04, M. Meyer rated it liked it Shelves: short-stories. This is an entertaining, quick read, with a simple plot, authentic western dialogue, and some humor. It is partially successful in addressing the paradox regarding if you change the past then you change the future.
The story is well written with a good pace, although the introductory scene is a little slow. The author was setting the mood but could just as well have eliminated the initial scene and started immediately with the scene about the train missing the stop at the station. I received my k This is an entertaining, quick read, with a simple plot, authentic western dialogue, and some humor. I received my kindle version as a free download on Amazon. This is a cross-genre sci-fi western short story. The author writes a good paragraph.
There's not much more here than a quick, short story. There's none of the characters with strong values one expects from a western and little of the development one expects from sci-fi. Not a bad read, but nothing exceptional. Apr 09, sheila hamblin rated it liked it. Short It was interesting.
A bit too short for me. Time travel.
